Quality Controller
Job Summary
In this dynamic environment and growing business, no two days will be the same, but you will have your main duties and responsibilities.
You will support the Quality Control Manager, carry out quality assessments and report on the product throughout the process, from intake to dispatch of the fruit.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform and report quality inspections during loading, ripening, production, dispatch.
- Complete shelf life and accelerated ripening trials and report results.
- Work closely with the Technical and Production teams to understand customer quality performance and take action accordingly.
- Highlight quality performance at grower level.
- Provide guidance and support to the packhouse on product handling to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Assess stock quality to ensure product returns are maximized through appropriate stock rotation and usage.
- Calibrate equipment.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Fresh Produce / Quality function, specializing in avocado’s.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and familiar with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft D365.
- Customer service driven.
- Ability to work in cold conditions from 2⁰C to 10⁰C and to lift/move a minimum of 11.33 kilograms (25 pounds).
- Ability and willingness to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch/bend and climb ladders as required to perform essential duties.
- Must be able and willing to work some hours on weekends, (national) holidays etc.
- Flexibility to cover for other colleagues in your team (e.g. during illness and days off/holidays).
- Already resident in the Netherlands and living within 30 kilometers of Poeldijk.
