Trial Specialist Tomato Fresh & Cucumber (High Tech)

Purpose of the job

Organize and independently coordinate, set up and execute trials as defined by the Product Development Specialist for Tomato Fresh and Cucumber in a high tech greenhouse environment.

You will collect data from the trials and convert these data into information about the specific characteristics of the crop. Your contribution assures that the crop ends its cycle in the trials without incidents. You are responsible for the coordination and a correct evaluation and communication of the results of the trial program for the crop in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Design, plan and coordinate the trial schedule in close cooperation with the Product Development Specialist.
  • Monitor, set up and execute the trials in high-tech greenhouses, but also in the open field at clients’ locations.
  • You collect, analyze, interpret and document autonomously yield data from trials
  • Show and inform the Product Development Specialist about the results of trials and new competitor varieties.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings with all the people involved in order to facilitate and enable the decision making about trials.
  • Coordinate and communicate the trial schedule to all clients involved and provide them with technical advice in order to meet agreed standards, time planning and budgets.

You are a professional with

  • A bachelor degree in agriculture or equivalent (farm) experience
  • Some experience or strong interest in high tech greenhouse environments
  • Strong analytical, organizing- and communication skills
  • Strong command of the Dutch & English language, written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of databases and Excel
  • Willingness to travel (30%) and you are able to work under pressure
  • Ability to work with seasonal peaks and in the open air

The location of this job-profile is set at 's-Gravenzande, but since you have to visit our customers in Belgium and the Netherlands, you don't have to live close to ’s-Gravenzande. There is also a possibility to work from Haelen – Nunhem and from your home-office.
